An incredibly easy and decadent Oreo Dump Cake recipe combining America’s favorite cookie with a simple cake mix, milk, and butter for a no-fuss, irresistible chocolate dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
  

  • 20 - 28 oreo cookies, divided
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz. cool whip, thawed
  • 15.25 oz. chocolate fudge cake mix
  • ½ cup (113 g) cold butter, evenly sliced
  • ¼ - ½ cup (57 - 113 g) butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F (177 C). Lightly grease an 11 x 7 or 9 x 13 inch baking dish using a tablespoon of butter. 
  • Evenly spread the chocolate Oreo cookies across the bottom of the pan. Depending on the pan size, this can range from 18 - 22 cookies. cake mix across the baking pan. Evenly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cookies.

  • Evenly spread the cool whip across the sweetened condensed milk covered cookies.  Evenly spread the chocolate fudge cake mix on top of the cool whip and cookie layers.8 oz. cool whip, thawed,15.25 oz. chocolate fudge cake mix
  • Top the dry cake mix with slices of cold butter. Try to cover as much cake mix as possible. Drizzle the melted butter in between the slices of butter. Top the entire dessert with about 4 - 6 crushed Oreo cookies.
    ½ cup (113 g) cold butter, evenly sliced,¼ - ½ cup (57 - 113 g) butter melted
  • Bake the Oreo dump cake for 35 - 40  minutes. The sweetened condensed milk will bubble around the edges and will look lightly caramelized. Cool the easy Oreo cake for 5 minutes, scoop into a bowl, top with ice cream if you like and enjoy!

Notes

Store: Transfer any leftover chocolate dump cake into an airtight container to store in the fridge for up to 3 - 4 days. Do not store this cookies and cream dump cake in the same dish as it was baked in. The condensed milk caramelizes and the cake will stick on the pan once it has completely cooled. 
 
Check at 30 minutes. This is a good time to add a little more melted butter on any spots of dry cake mix that may have no melted butter on top. Simply drizzle a little more butter on those spots and continue baking for another 5 - 10 minutes.
